Recycling Centre RD4 Heeren (NL)

Projects

Description

RD4, a recyclable processor in the Netherlands, recently expanded its Heerlen branch’s external area. The expansion featured an impressive 9000 m² of fibre reinforced concrete, skilfully built by Roos Groep. The concrete slab measures 210 mm in thickness, with doweled cut joints placed at 5 x 5 meters intervals. Betoncentrale Limburg played a vital role by producing and delivering the fibre concrete, using 3.50 kg/m³ of Concrix SuperFloor. The finished pavement boasts a broom-textured surface, enhancing its durability and traction. What’s truly remarkable is that this innovative approach allowed a reduction of the planned slab thickness by 4 cm, leading to an approximate saving of 60 tons of CO2 emissions.

Advantages of Concrix SuperFloor Solution:

  • Cost reduction (material and labour)
  • No corrosion – longer service life
  • Less CO2 – environmentally friendlier (EPD certified)
  • Less visible fibres on the surface – broom finish
  • Massive reduction of early shrinkage cracks
